Sunday Brunch at Caffe Luna Rosa in Delray Beach

I’ve said it a million times there is nothing like Sunday Brunch on the water in South Florida. There is just something so wonderful and fantastic about the whole scene, it’s so relaxing yet invigorating at the same time. Last Sunday I met a friend for brunch at Luna Rosa in Delray Beach; it was just what I needed coming off a crazy week of events from here to the moon and back again.

The place was a mob scene at 10:30 on Sunday morning you couldn’t buy a table but somehow we walked right in like royalty. My friend (she’s so in the know) has a Caffe Luna Rosa VIP House Account, ok I’m a believer it worked. Every single snowbird, visitor and spring-breaker is still waiting in line at this hot spot and we’ve come and gone. There’s something to this VIP Account. Already I’m lovin’ this place, it’s so the place to be for breakfast on the weekend.

Sometimes you know exactly what you need, not want, need. And this Sunday morning was no exception, I needed sweet and a mimosa. I opted for the Berry Banana Delicious Waffle with warm maple syrup and extra butter. My breakfast partner in crime ordered Eggs Benedict and tea, she’s detoxing, she follows these crazy detox tweeters, so I was for sure she was going to whip out some vegetable concoction-potion she brought with her but she didn’t, she just sipped her tea, I however had no problem sucking down two mimosas with my waffle, which by the way, they make a mean mimosa at Luna Rosa.

My waffle was absolutely delicious it came right off the waffle iron so it was steamy hot with fresh sliced strawberries and bananas. The syrup was warm and so yummy sweet as I  made maple butter puddles in my waffle, sometimes I just love to play with my food. Now detox-girl had her own thing going on; which I don’t quite get why she ordered Eggs Benedict but I’m a good friend and I don’t question and I don’t judge. Her Eggs Benedict was gorgeous, almost too gorgeous that you didn’t want to eat it. She had a side of fruit instead of the breakfast potatoes, I guess that was the detox part of her breakfast with the tea??!

It was a great hour. I love the atmosphere at Luna Rosa, you can see the ocean, can’t beat that. The service was spot on and friendly; and if I didn’t need to start detoxing myself I’d be there every Sunday with my Caffe Luna Rosa VIP card eating waffles and drinking mimosas but sometimes life isn’t fair and we just need to sip our detoxing green tea and be quiet. But after detox, I’ll be at the curbside table with my waffle, my mimosa and of course a side of fruit.
