Last week I wrote about Casa D’Angelo, Fort Lauderdale hosting a GAJA wine dinner and that it would be a dining event that would thrill you to your very core, if food and wine is your thing and that it might even make you a little “ga-ga”! So here I am the ‘day after’ and yes, I am completely “ga-ga.”
So much so that I’m in the throes of a food porn, foodgasm hangover. And quite frankly am having trouble functioning. It was my first time having dinner at Casa D’Angelo and my first time having GAJA wines. As one would expect neither disappointed, quite frankly the entire experience was food and wine stratospheric.
Gaia Gaja was in attendance last night hosting the dinner with Chef Elia and his wife Denise. Gaia who with her father and sister own and operate GAJA Winery, a true family business since 1859. When you have the opportunity to meet and spend time with the person behind a business or a product it makes it more personal and exciting for you. When this person is approachable and captivating then it makes the product or business all the more amazing in your eyes; as was the case with Gaia Gaja.
The lovely Gaia is smart, charming, and very engaging as she spoke to the crowd introducing her wines and sharing stories of the winery and her family. Not quite sure if Gaia actually got to eat any of her five courses because she took the time to sit and speak with each guest in attendance last night. Gaia cast a spell on the room last night with her magnetic personality and I am quite sure everyone left last night just a bit more “ga-ga” over GAJA wines.
I appreciate everything about great food and great wine. I appreciate exclusive dinners for what they are and everything you get to experience from them; they do rock my world and they do thrill me to my very core. I sat with a very charismatic group of people last night which only added to the fascination of the evening. To me wine dinners are a marvelous way break out of the norm and experience a whole new world, something I recommend doing at least once.
