Dinner at China Grill Miami Beach

China Grill is a stunning restaurant with equally stunning and delicious food. I had dinner at the China Grill in Miami Beach earlier this week. There is a tremendous amount of quality and excellence in the food, the preparation and its presentation. China Grill is built on a shareable menu concept and that is exactly what we did.

We started with an assorted sashimi platter that included tuna, salmon, shrimp and mackerel. The colorful presentation was absolutely gorgeous, you almost didn’t want to eat it. We then had the Spicy Beef & Scallion Dumplings and Calamari Salad. The handmade dumplings melted in your mouth and the spicyness of the beef woke up your tastebuds for good measure just to make sure you were fully appreciating the dish. The Calamari Salad was an oversized dish of mixed greens coated in just enough of their signature lime miso dressing and the tender calamari was “crackled” to perfection. For our main entrees we ordered two of the classic dishes on the China Grill menu, the Barbecue Salmon and Grilled Garlic Shrimp over Black Fettuccini in a Red Curry Coconut Sauce; both dishes play with the dichotomy of sweet and savory lending balance to the overall dish.

The service was spot on and interactive. Our server was eager to share her favorites and suggestions guiding us the entire way through the menu and our meal. Everything about China Grill is dazzling, the food and the atmosphere and the service. Based on the “sharing concept” it’s easy to see how in one visit guests can try multiple items on the menu and be completely replete with the food and the choices. China Grill offers individual and half portions of their $22 Executive Lunch Menu and their $36 Classics Tasting Menu at dinner giving guests more opportunity to sample and try a variety of their items. Click here to view the photos of our dinner. China Grill Miami Beach is located at 404 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach. 305.534.2111
