The book, Food Lovers’ Guide to Miami & Fort Lauderdale

2011 has been a very exciting year for South Florida Food and Wine; we started out by winning the Sun-Sentinel people’s choice award for best foodie blog and coming in on the heels of that great recognition, was a book contract 5 days later to pen the first ever “Food Lovers’ Guide to Miami and Fort Lauderdale. This “project” was the project to end all projects. Having written and posted daily on this blog for a year and a half paid off in spades.

This book is truly the highlight of my professional life; at times the thought of how this played out is overwhelming and leaves me breathlessly in awe of how “things just happen”. For months, days and hours on end I dedicated my entire life to researching and writing this book. I put my life on hold. With the exception of a handful of people, I kept the book under wraps the entire time I was gathering information and producing content for it, because it is my feeling that this was the way it needed to be done, without influence.

This book is the first ever of its kind in South Florida as the ultimate guide to the food scene in Miami and Fort Lauderdale providing the inside scoop on the best places to find, enjoy, and celebrate local culinary offerings. The Food Lovers’ Guide to Miami and Fort Lauderdale is written for residents and visitors alike to assist them in finding producers and purveyors of tasty local specialties, and an array of other, indispensable food-related information including: food festivals; specialty food shops; farmers’ markets; trendy restaurants and time-tested iconic landmarks; as well as a Chef’s Chapter of recipes.
