We’re beginning to see more and more car transporters pit-stopping all over our South Florida roads picking up the Snowbirds Grand Marquis’ and such; the sign that season is almost over. Happy Hours, and weekend Brunches continue to be cranking as the locals begin to celebrate their South Florida summer “season”. We’ve got some interesting events happening over the next few weeks that are definitely worth considering and don’t forget to look into the Florida Resident summer specials that are starting to show up. Tyson Foods, Inc. is partnering with Feeding South Florida™ (formerly Daily Bread Food Bank) to bring fresh, healthy foods to South Floridians who are food insecure. Tyson is donating nearly 38,000 pounds of roasted chicken with orange sauce to be distributed from one of its trucks at Feeding South Florida’s April 27 at 1pm mobile food pantry event. The donation is part of Tyson’s “Share Your KNOWledge” campaign, which has a goal to help raise awareness about hunger in eight specific U.S. communities, including South Florida.  Approximately 300 individuals from Feeding South Florida’s member agencies who are food insecure will receive the food distributed at the farmer’s market-style distribution. In addition to the chicken that Tyson will distribute, Feeding South Florida will serve fresh vegetables, fruits, and bread products. Total Wine Fort Lauderdale and Bistro Mezzaluna have partnered up for a series of wine dinners beginning on Wednesday, May 2. The first dinner in the series is A tour of Italy; the welcome reception begins at 6:30pm, guests will be served Prosecco and passed hors d’oeuvres to begin the evening. Bistro Mezzaluna’s Executive Chef, Brian Rutherford has created a special menu for the evening with each course paired with the wines. $125 per person includes tax and gratuity. And in Miami on May 2 a Burgundy Wine Dinner will be hosted at db Bistro Moderne. Sommelier Christopher Lindemann and Chef Jarrod Verbiak welcome winemaker Pierre de Benoist of Domaine A. et P. de Villaine for an evening of Burgundy wines from the Cote Chalonnaise as they will spotlight five single vineyard wines, paired with a four-course dinner. The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne has planned a summer rendezvous for guests focused around a romantic moonrise dinner on the outdoor terrace; as each table is “the table with a view.” A four-course menu will be offered and will change each month as it is inspired by different a gastronomic region of Italy each month. $60 per person for dinner/$90 for dinner with wine, plus tax and gratuity; or guests have the option to order off the Cioppino menu.  This dinner will be offered on May 6, and June 4, at Cioppino at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne 455 Grand Bay Drive Key Biscayne, FL

The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, continues its Starry Night Movie Classics on The Courtyard. American Craft Beer Week, touted as “The Mother of all Beer Weeks”, will take place May 14-20th. Craft Beer Week is a nationwide tribute to the craft beer movement and its culture. 30+ events are scheduled here in South Florida.
