Old World meets New World by way of Portugal in Miami on Tuesday, June 12; a Grand Tasting will feature 150 wines from Portugal. The wines highlight the range of Portugal’s various wine regions and viticulture.
The Wines of Portugal Miami event will be held at the Rubell Family Foundation in Wynwood. The Grand Tasting has two tiers, VIP and General Admission. The VIP time starts at 6 pm and the General Admission begins at 7 pm. General Admission tickets are $55/person but with the exclusive South Florida Food and Wine discount, the price is $25 and for VIP tickets that are regularly priced at $75, the South Florida Food and Wine price is $35. Proceeds from the Miami event will benefit the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which helps underprivileged children learn about nutrition and food.
During the VIP Grand Tasting, a Familiarization Class or “Fam Class” on the Wines of Portugal will be led by South Florida Food and Wine contributor Emilio Guerra of Dreyfus Ashby. From 1:30-4:30pm on Tuesday, June 12th members of the wine trade and press are invited to a private tasting of the wines. At 2:30pm Emilio Guerra will be facilitating a “Fam Class” for the trade and media.
