48-hour weekend getaway to Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa

Take Indiantown Road all the way east until the road ends and intersects with A1A,  it is here at 5 North A1A that you will find the casually stylish Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa. A quiet refuge, this resort is host to a natural habitat of secluded shoreline dotted with Anastasia limestone or more commonly known as Blowing Rocks [where breaking waves spray geysers of water through the erosion holes of the rock reaching heights of 50 feet.]

With its 1000 feet of private shoreline the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa offers a certain peace and tranquility that only nature can provide, truly defining a quiet weekend retreat. The Jupiter Beach Resort is boutique in style with 168 guest rooms and suites; for gathering of friends and friends to be a community livingroom/gameroom is furnished with pool tables, a library of books and a large screen TV; (just in case all that alone time starts to get to you)

Jupiter Beach Resort beachside ultralounge area

Other than being right on the beach, the oceanside pool area was a favorite place of mine this particular weekend. Inviting with its ultra lounge area complete with a firepit, (which was lit most of the time during my chilly weekend away) and hammocks set within the seaside gardens of palm trees and sea grass. And of course no pool area is complete without a bona fide Tiki Bar serving up cold brews and killer burgers. (yes I ate this burger, sans the roll, with a fork & knife and extra salt on my fries)

Guests of Jupiter Beach Resort [as well as locals] can rent beach chairs and an umbrella for the day complete with beach service; as beach attendants serve the full Tiki Bar (Sandbar) menu. Both Saturday and Sunday morning I grabbed myself a chair with my favorite weekend read, The New York Times and watched the sun rise. To me, this was worth the entire weekend away. (Check out the photo link below of the Blowing Rocks and the sunrise)

Too much Tiki Bar is not a well balanced meal plan. Other dining options on property include Sinclairs, The Lounge, The Outdoor Terrace and The Ocean Grill. The newly renovated, Sinclairs also comes with revamped menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering some pretty interesting choices such as the vegetable flatbread, which I ordered twice during my 48-hour stay.

Executive Chef Ricky Gopeesingh has painstakingly created a menu with his culinary team that caters to locals and guests alike.  Gopeesingh has his finger on the pulse of his clientele and is certainly giving them what they want; a broad spectrum of choices includes seafood, fowl, beef, pasta and lamb. While seemingly standard menu options, hum-drum ways of preparation have been left at the door. Gopeesingh and team are playing with a kaleidoscopic of flavors and textures such as rosemary Bordelaise sauce, passion fruit peppercorn sauce, citrus fume blanc reductions, and vanilla scented beurre blanc. Playing with their food is something this culinary team has lots of fun with as they make you work for your S’mores experience. The Sinclairs Crème Brûlée trio is similar to the original campfire style in that you work for it in stages by take a spoonful of the sweet rich custard from each division and with one taste, you’ve got you’re childhood treat, of course with a little more pizzazz.

Eating, drinking, beaching, there’s only one thing left to round out this 48-hours of R&R, and that would be spa-ing. The Spa at the Jupiter Beach Resort is very popular with locals. No glitz and glam here, just a friendly, warm and inviting venue; the staff at The Spa cannot seem to do enough for their guests, with genuine appeal. I sat and watched the staff interact with many guests before and after my treatment and consistently they had a remarkable amity for each person visiting their spa, thus the high regard they have in the community.

Jupiter is a quiet town, you come here to rejuvenate.  For a little more activity other than eating, drinking, spa-ing and beaching you can venture off property to the Jupiter Outdoor Center, where Rick, Sharon, and team will take very good care of you. Jupiter Outdoor Center offers a variety of outdoor eco-adventures such as kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkling and fishing. I took the historical guided tour narrated by historian James Snyder, author of  Five Thousand Years on the Loxahatchee: A Pictorial History of Jupiter-Tequesta, Florida. The tour took us through the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve, we explored the mangrove islands and marine estuaries. Whether a novice, or expert Rick and Sharon will see to it that your experience is memorable; I was a novice. We had a lot of laughs, I’m still laughing about my day with them and the 30 other people on tour with us. It was a fun afternoon and you feel good about actually learning something too, while I enjoyed my 48-hour weekend getaway, I’ll say making it out of the wily mangrove islands semi-unscathed proved to be the highlight of my weekend.
