Happy Hour and Dinner at The Office Delray Beach

The Office Delray Beach

The Office in Delray Beach serves happy hour seven days a week from 3-7pm and then again, late night from 10pm until close; offering half priced cocktails (both times) and a bar menu (3-7pm only). On any given Friday night the bar is 3-deep with weekend revelers; while happy hour was not exactly as jammed packed on a Sunday afternoon as a Friday night it certainly held it own at 3:30 in the afternoon. I’m a big fan of The Office’s happy hour, and have found a bar stool or two on many of the aforementioned Friday nights. The Office serves a healthy cocktail and some rather hearty and interesting bar food which is probably the ever-popular draw not to mention the corner location on Atlantic Avenue making it quite the hot spot.

Spiced Shrimp, Cheddar Cheese, Green Onion Aioli, Crispy Serrano Bits

Four years and The Office is still going strong so in addition to happy hour this time we stayed for dinner, something I have yet to do. While I always seemed to claim a bar stool at The Office, the dining room for some reason has eluded me each and every time I’ve paid a visit.

The Office Delray Beach

With 60 or so seats inside and another 40 perhaps outside, The Office is an intimate sort of place, which is very deceiving from the outside. The restaurant/bar is open-air style playing up to the the ideal South Florida venue with a good dose of eclectic and a smokey-sexy vibe.

This self proclaimed “modern American watering hole” is well known for it’s burgers and ribs, so with our happy hour fix appeased it was time for some food substance.

Sweet Onion & Tomato Confit, Maytag Blue, Gruyere, Arugula, Bacon, Office Sauce

Blue Cheese Wedge

The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, we ordered them with the bbq sauce on the side, a house sauce packing some nice heat and spice, adding zip to the grilled ribs. The burger was cooked exactly as ordered. The Office Sauce and the tomato and onion confit added a sweetness to the blue and gruyere savory. Holding this mammoth CEO burger together is a lofty bun; if consuming carbs isn’t your ideal food choice, the CEO can easily be devoured fork & knife style. The sleeper hit for me was the ever simple Blue Cheese Wedge. I had no intention of doing vegetables, at all, and much to my surprise, this salad was solid and I’d order it again in a heartbeat. The Office does a very good job with their beer list breaking down the styles of the beers, guiding you through what can easily be a daunting choice; Pales & Ales, Crisp & Clean, IPAs, Reds & Browns, Wheat Beers, Belgian Style Ales and Miscellaneous Brews. Depending what you like or are in the adventurous mood for this list will steer you in the right direction.

In addition to The Office’s daily discounted Happy Hour menu a new summer menu has been launched with equally as many value offerings giving you the opportunity to eat your way through The Office this summer.
