Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has joined forces with celebrity chef Gaston Acurio to open La Mar by Gaston Acurio at Mandarin Oriental, Miami in December 2013, replacing the hotel’s Café Sambal restaurant. The all-day dining restaurant, cebiche and tapas bar will feature Acurio’s famed Peruvian cuisine in a sleek, modern setting that includes 245 indoor and outdoor seating options with dramatic water views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. The new restaurant will complement Mandarin Oriental, Miami’s Five-Star fine dining restaurant Azul. Three open-area bars will provide distinctive culinary experiences and a look into the creation of signature cebiches, freshly grilled anticuchos and specialty cocktails.
La Mar by Gaston Acurio at Mandarin Oriental, Miami will be Chef Acurio’s third location in the United States, following his restaurants in San Francisco and Chicago. The cuisine will celebrate the authentic and diverse flavors of Peruvian gastronomy, ranging from upscale novo-Andean fare to Asian-Peruvian fusion and traditional seafood cebiche.
