Free things to do this weekend in South Florida, October 17-20

The weather is gorgeous in South Florida, stunning blue skies dotted with high puffy clouds ideal for getting out and doing things in our fair cities and towns, even if its just to walk around. Here are few free events going on this weekend including our list of Green Markets and Pumpkin Patches.

Thursday, October 17, 6:00-10:00 pm Delray Beach’s On The Ave will be held in the Pineapple Grove Arts District, where art of all kinds, food, drink, dance and music will be in the spotlight. On The Ave will be held along NE Second Avenue from just north of Atlantic Avenue to just south of NE Third Street; On The Ave event will display the wide variety of art that fills the Pineapple Grove Arts District including live music from Miami’s own PALO! American Idol’s Ghaleb, and Double Trouble.

October 19 & 20 Saturday & Sunday 10:00- 5:00 pm 26th Annual Las Olas Art Fair SE 6th Ave. and East Las Olas Boulevard.

Sunday, October 20; 12- 5pm 20th annual Kite Festival at Haulover Park, Miami. The sky over Miami Beach will display an array of colors and figures from hundreds of kites in the air. Free events feature paper kite building classes  & demonstrations from longtime kite enthusiasts. In addition, there will be kite-flying competitions for both children and adults.

Sunday October 20,  11-6pm Gables Bike Day; a  family-friendly event. The organization promotes a safe and friendly environment for cyclists and pedestrians by advocating programs and events to educate the community.
