#15byChristmas, It’s About Your Food and Drink Choices

No doctors, no diet plans, no special food or pills. #15byChristmas is all about taking what you know about eating well, healthy and clean and implementing it into your everyday life. Tricia, my running pal, and I have a goal, it’s to lose 15 pounds by Christmas; we have 46 days/eight weeks which comes out to losing two pounds a week. It can be done. We’re giving it our all and we will make our goal. Especially since we’ve gone public with this and have decided to keep a weight loss diary of sorts here on SouthFloridaFoodandWine.com in a dedicated #15byChristmas section. We need to do this for ourselves, if we inspire a few people along the way, great.

As I mentioned in my first post about #15byChristmas, how to lose 15 pounds by Christmas it helps if you’ve got a support team behind you, especially if you don’t have the willpower. If you don’t have people in your life who support you, we’ll be your support system here; all you have to do is leave comments on any of the #15byChristmas posts and let the dialogue flow. And listen, you don’t have to commit to losing 15 pounds, if you just want to lose 5 or 7 or 10, or none, and you simply want to eat better and make better choices its all the same to us, just know our recipes, motivation, and exercise posts apply to you as well.

It’s about your food and drink choices that help, hinder, stabilize or propel you, but you know this. We all do, we just don’t always make the best choices; at times we indulge in something a little too much, and too frequently.

This instead of that. Depending on your personal goals, everyone’s choices are vastly different but what we all have in common is the ability to make the less guilty choice. Saturday night I could have had french fries with my prime rib, but I opted for the kale salad. It’s about making the right choice for yourself the moment it presents itself. But here’s the thing, I really want this to work for me. I’m not tempted nor do I care about having a glass or two of wine right now; I enjoy it but I love the way I feel this morning after our three mile walk last night versus a bottle of wine and a cheese pairing. I’m in this for the long haul. I feel better about my food choices and my body is very happy about this new food, *salad* I’ve been feeding it lately. What is your one great choice you’ve made today?
