If you’re not cooking Thanksgiving Dinner, not hosting a gaggle of people and not into watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade then a few events happening around South Florida might interest you. Let’s start with the selfless giving of our time; there are shifts still available to assist in preparing, serving and delivering meals to the less fortunate on Thanksgiving. Check out the two sites listed below; be sure to call and confirm exactly what the needs are before committing, as the requirements and volunteer requests change on a moments notice.
Help serve over 500 meals on Thanksgiving Day at the Homeless Voice Homeless Shelter in Hollywood, Florida.
Palm Beach County
The Big Heart Brigade is working to prepare 100,000 meals to give away to those who possibly would not have a meal on Thanksgiving. Meal preparation, packaging and delivery shifts still available. Check out this video of what the Big Heart Brigade does.
And for those looking to get in a metabolism boost before dinner, all four counties in South Florida will have a Turkey Trot.
