White Truffle Dinners in South Florida

October marks the peaks of truffle season, when Alba, Italy proudly captivates the gastronomic world with its fresh crop of the rare and highly coveted White Truffle Mushrooms, also known as the “Diamonds of the Kitchen”. Two South Florida restaurants will be hosting notable White Truffle Dinners.

White Truffle Dinner,  November. 13, 2014 at Cafe Boulud Palm Beach
Sommeliere Mariya Kovacheva will pour the wines of Oddero, Luigi Giordano and Negro, imported from some of the most famous Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards, which will be paired with a five-courses featuring the sumptuous white truffles.  The flavors and aromas of White Truffles from Alba will be showcased in an inspired tasting menu created by Executive Chef Rick Mace and Pastry Chef Eric Snow. The evening’s special guest will be Mr. Weston Hoard, renowned for his extensive knowledge of the beautiful truffle-rich region of Piedmont.  This reservations-required event on November 13, 2014, begins with a reception at 6.30 pm followed by dinner at 7PM, and costs $425 per person and excludes tax and gratuities. For information and reservations please call 561.655.6060. Cafe Boulud at the Brazilian Court, 301 Australian Avenue, Palm Beach FL  33480

White Truffle Dinner, November 19, 2014 at Cioppino, Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne 
On Wednesday, November 19, Sommelier Jorge Mendoza, Executive Chef Clayton van Hooijdonk and special guest Fiorenzo Dogliani of Batasiolo SpA winery will present a five-course white truffle pairing menu. Dogliani brings with him vertical vintage wines from past decades of the Crus of Barolo, sourced directly from the private library at Batasolio SpA, as well as a selection of white truffles freshly gathered from his homeland. Guests will be guided through these rare wines, each expertly matched with the earthy, woody flavors of white truffles, shaved a la minute on the restaurant’s open kitchen, marble display. A welcome reception and greeting with Fiorenzo Dogliani begins at 7 p.m., followed by a five-course dinner. $240 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are very limited with only 60 spaces available.  For reservations, please contact (305) 365-4286. Truffle dinner and wine pairing December 12, 20114 at 3800 Ocean at Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, will host a seven course truffle dinner paired with Prunotto by Marchesi Antinori Wines. The oceanfront event will commence at 7 p.m. for an hors d ’oeuvres reception, followed by dinner from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The truffle dinner and wine pairing is $165 per person excluding tax and gratuity.
