In 1876, pioneering winery founder, Thomas Hardy purchased Tintara winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia in order to expand his already successful winemaking business. His vision and passion for winemaking meant that the Tintara name was soon synonymous with outstanding Australian winemaking, as was the region of McLaren Vale.
