Italian And German Wines For Christmas

Schloss Johannisberg is a castle and winery in the village of Johannisberg in the Rheingau wine-growing region of Germany. It has been making wine for over 900 years. Schloss Johannisberg has a melodic nose of orange zest, nectarine, quince jelly, coconut, white flowers and herbs. It is dense and intense on the palate with fresh, acidity and a mineral, lemony finish. SRP $32

Rocca Sveva Soave Classico‘s vineyards are located in the Classic Soave growing area of Italy which includes the hills in the communes of Soave and Monteforte. Soave Classico is Luminous and beautifully well balanced; stylish and harmonious, with appealing with its fragrant apple blossom bouquet. Soave Classico shows off its combination of fresh, lively acidity with a pleasant almond finish which is a characteristic of the Garganega grape. SRP $16

Marcarini Pertinace Barbaresco noble and austere; a fine dry red wine.  Intense, and ethereal, very persistent and noticeable tannins. Great structure, harmonious and velvety. SRP $55
