Oakland Park Farm to Chef Showcase Begins Its 2015 Food & Wine Series on January 14

Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 5:30pm the Oakland Park Farm to Chef Showcase at the weekly Farmers Market kicks off the new year with its first culinary demonstration presented by Jack Garabedian, owner of Jefe’s Original Fish Tacos & Burgers of North Miami, and wine tasting led by Jelena Meisel of Zonin USA. Garabedian’s menu and cooking demo will include,

  • How to pickle vegetables (vegetables can be bought at farmers market)
  • Monte Cristo sandwich flambé with a peach nectar, maple-brandy date syrup
  • Not-your-average-Salad: arugula, watercress with tomatillos, jalapenos, and mint tossed with an apple cider vinaigrette and pumpkin seeds to garnish (vegetables can be bought at farmers market)

Italian Wine importer Zonin USA will taste the audience on its popular namesake Prosecco, an Italian white wine and two Italian red wines. The Oakland Park Farm to Chef Showcase at the weekly Farmers Market is a free community event with ample free parking; located at 3800 North Dixie Highway, Oakland Park (diagonal from Funky Buddha Brewery).
