National Food and Drink Days in April

It’s always something, and national food and drink holidays are no exception. While seemingly silly and superfluous it is a public relations dream come true. How some of these commemorative days come into being is ironically a serious process with the President of the United States declaring a day of tribute by proclamation, [after some pretty heavy lobbying]. Petitions are setup by voters and trade associations to pay tribute to a social cause. The Senate, state legislatures, governors, and mayors have the ability to proclaim special observance days as well. After the observance day has been proclaimed, it is up to the lobbyists/petitioners to promote it to the public.

All seriousness aside, food and drink days give many people reason to celebrate, promote and just plain ‘ole have a good time.  So why not gather up your friends and family and celebrate some national food day this month?
