Parducci True Grit Reserve Wines

Parducci True Grit Reserve wines are a labor of love and passion through generations of the Thornhill family.

A native Texan, Tim Thornhill’s philosophy of leaving things better than he found them led him across the country for much of his career as a landscape architect for public and private botanical gardens. As his professional dreams came to fruition, Tim sought out a way to make his personal dreams do the same. He wanted a place for his family to come together, no matter where they were in the world.  It was the unique and historic Parducci Winery of Mendocino County, in the rugged north of California, which Tim Thornhill chose as the place to make his dream of a family home and gathering place a reality. Parducci was a place he could put down roots, and grow his family ties, and wine, from the ground up.

The Parducci family came to California’s north coast form their native Tuscany and created one of California’s first great wineries in 1932. Built on the traditional holistic approach of Tuscany, the Parducci family developed a winery in harmony with the unique microclimates of Mendocino County. This gentle approach won the winery national and international acclaim, and in 2012 John Parducci was inducted into the California Vintners Hall of Fame for his influence on California wine.

As stewards of the Parducci legacy, the Thornhill family is proud to operate the oldest winery in Mendocino County in the very best traditions of John Parducci. Boldly expressive, focused, and authentic, True Grit Reserve wines are the product of very selective fruit sourcing from the finest vineyards in Mendocino County and hands-on winemaking. Each vintage gives the full range of expression for a line of fearlessly distinct, character-driven wines.

Celebrating its 10th vintage, the 2013 Parducci True Grit Petite Sirah is the 81st vintage of Parducci Petite Sirah, a fine tribute the heritage of both Parducci and the Thornhill family.

The lineup of appealing and friendly Reserve wines are:

2013 Parducci True Grit Petite Sirah a blend wine of 99% Petite Sirah, .5% Syrah, and .5% Grenache; showing off classic Sirah aromas of ripe dark berries, pepper and vanilla, followed by intense flavors of that same blackberry, dark chocolate, more pepper and caramel flavors. A true upscale California Sirah. SRP $30

2013 Parducci True Grit Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon another California beauty blend of 99.75% Cabernet Sauvignon, and .25% Petit Verdot has rich aromas of black current and fresh mint, with deep flavors of cherry liqueur and warm spice. SRP  $30

2013 Parducci True Grit Reserve Chardonnay old-style Chardonnay meets new-style Chardonnay in this bottle. A blend of 97% Chardonnay, 2.5% Viognier, 0.5% and Muscat. Refreshing with summer fruit and deep with wood, pear, lemon crème, and apple butter. SRP $30

2012 Parducci True Grit Reserve Red Blend made up of mostly Syrah, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. This blend offers so much with regards to the wine experience; plum, black cherry, and coconut aromas lead into flavors of blueberry and cherry, leather and spice cake. SRP $30
