Shaken – South Florida’s Ultimate Mixology Contest Begins On Tuesday September 13th

Myschyf, [a hemp liqueur] founders Garett Hagen and Drew Shprintz are veterans of the bartending scene in South Florida and have always wanted to produce a unique cocktail competition that rewards personality, talent, and skill into the final results. They partnered with Bob Higginbotham, the man that created Bar Brawls, along with Rob Husted from Bar Wars LLC. This competition will feature 32 of South Florida’s most impressive bartenders going toe-to-toe in an eleven round single elimination contest using mystery ingredients all to be named the winner of Shaken.

“The buzz on Shaken is already hot on the streets, with bars and restaurants like CWS Bar and Kitchen, Kapow, Caffe Martier, Rebel House, Dirty Martini, The Dubliner and Honey already on board to host events. From having the top bartenders, distinguished judges and vibrant locations, Shaken will be the most exciting and entertaining bartending competition South Florida has ever seen,” said Bob Higginbotham, Host and MC of the event.

The Draw Party will be held at Tiki ‘Ono on Monday August 29th at 6:00pm and the competition will kick off on Tuesday September 13th at 9:00pm and run for 11 consecutive weeks at various locations throughout Palm Beach County. The complete list of participants in the inaugural event include: Matthew Swig (Regional Kitchen and Public House), Josh Gates (Tiki ‘Ono), Marc Volpicelli (USBG President), Jessie Bell (CWS and El Camino), James Hartmann (Ian’s Tropical Grill), Keith Popojoy (Nomad), James Serra (unknown), Nikos Mantzaridis (Beaker and Gray), Justin Himmelbaum (Mucho Gusto), Brian Sassen (Repour), Mike Gigler (Honey), Robert Dolder (Jardin), Ayme Harrison (Kreepy Tiki), John Fitzpatrick (32 East), Jeffrey Creegan (Caffe Martier), Erika Watkins (Caffe Martier), Tennette Shumaker (The Cooper), Brett Robertson (Kapow), John Dvornik (50 Ocean), Hayden Gartzman (Rebel House), Gerard Volanto (Brother Jimmy’s BBQ), Mark Gettino (Rebel House), Matt Brown (The Alchemist), Vincent Toscano (Le Rendez-vous), Anthony Lill (Wine Dive), Hauk Cornell (Hilton West Palm Beach), Joe Messina, Carlos Cardoso (Off The Hookah), Brett Hart (Hullabaloo), Ivan Ramirez (Brandon”s Palm Beach), Adrian Watson (The Breaker’s), David Bouchard (Nitrogen) and Tiffini Grant (Apiero).
