Ketel One Vodka Cocktail Demonstration at Oakland Park Culinary Arts Showcase January 5th

In partnership with the Oakland Park Community Redevelopment Agency, South Florida Food and Wine is co-hosting the popular Oakland Park Culinary Arts Showcase for its third season which will launch on Thursday, January 5th at Jaco Pastorius Park. The Culinary Arts Showcase spotlights local restaurants in the Oakland Park area where visiting chefs will prepare, demonstrate and serve four courses along with this season’s cocktail sponsor Diageo whose brands include, Ketel One vodka, Don Julio tequila, Ron Zacapa rum, and Bulleit bourbon. The cocktail presentation will include a demonstration how to make the cocktail, and pair each food course with a different cocktail.

Ketel One Vodka is the host cocktail sponsor for the Thursday, January 5th event.  Ketel One Vodka Regional Brand Ambassador, Dianna Greene Cowan will preside over the cocktail demonstration. Greene-Cowan’s cocktail presentation will include:

KETEL ONE MORE TIME
1.5 oz. Ketel One® Vodka
.5 oz. fresh lime juice
.5 oz. simple syrup
1 barspoon Green Chartreuse
2 slices cucumber (remove skins)
1 chunk pineapple
Muddle cucumber and pineapple in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with
a light sprinkle of salt

FROM HOLLAND WITH LOVE 
1 1/4 oz. Ketel One® Oranje
1 oz. ginger liqueur
1 oz. fresh lime juice
2 barspoons orange marmalade
2 drops orange bitters
Combine ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange peel.

KETEL ONE FALL BACK BUCK
1.5 oz. Ketel One® Citroen
.5 oz. fresh lime juice
.5 oz. simple syrup
1 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. ginger beer
Angostura bitters
Combine first four ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with ginger beer and a heavy Float of Angostura bitters

KETEL ONE BANKER’S HIGHBALL
1oz Ketel One Oranje
1 oz Aperol
½ oz Elderflower Liqueur
1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
Tonic Water
Combine first four ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake with ice and strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top with tonic water. Garnish with a lemon wedge

The Oakland Park Culinary Arts Showcase is a free community event, open to the public. Seating and tastings are guaranteed for the first 100 people. The event is held from 6:00PM-7:30PM. Jaco Pastorius Park is located at 4000 North Dixie Highway, Oakland Park, FL 33334. Parking is free on NE 38th Street and on NE 12th Avenue. Entrance into Jaco Pastorius Park is through the Grand Plaza. January 5th spotlight restaurant is Viva Tokyo.
