Forks & Corks Sarasota celebrates its 10 year milestone January 29, 2017. Forks & Corks presented by The Sarasota-Manatee Originals is a group of nearly 60 locally owned and operated restaurants. Forks & Corks food and wine festival draws widespread attention to the prevalence of quality, independently-owned restaurants in the Sarasota-Manatee area of Florida.
Forks & Corks will take place January 27-29, 2017 and will host an impressive lineup of winemakers along with favorite local chefs and restaurants. Events over the weekend include:
- Winemaker Dinners: Friday January 27th and Saturday January 28th at various Original member restaurants
- Forks & Corks University Master Class Sessions: Saturday, January 28th at Michael’s On East Ballroom, Wine Cellar and Restaurant
- Forks & Corks Grand Tasting: Sunday January 29th at The Ringling
“Eat Like a Local” is the Original’s motto, and they continue each year to be successful in sharing their passionate love of food, culture, history and wine with their patrons, as well as through a series of events throughout the weekend of January 27 that leads up to the Grand Tasting on Sunday, January 29 – a daylong celebration on the grounds of The Ringling. On this day each year, The Originals and their chefs offer their signature dishes and invite ticket holders to sample wines from over 50 international wineries.
Michael Klauber, event founder and co-chair, and owner of Michael’s On East, calls the yearly festival, “an epicurean delight and unsurpassed melting of all things food, wine and culture here in Sarasota.”
The Original’s Executive Director Kate Atkin, adds, “Forks & Corks is a whirlwind weekend of great food, fine wine and fun!
