Summer Value Wines

Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2016 SRP <$15. Sauvignon Blanc is grown almost everywhere in New Zealand, but in Marlborough this variety finds its utmost expression of anywhere in the world. Winemaking influences are kept to a minimum. Slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel retains the crisp fruit flavors. Cellaring is normally avoided to retain the youthful freshness of the wine. This wine is perky on the palate with tastes of citrus, gooseberry, passionfruit, balanced with hints of bell pepper, grass and melon.

Brancott Estate Flight Song Pinot Grigio 2015 SRP <$15. The grapes are harvested early summer when the natural sugar content is low, thus resulting in a lower calorie wine. This Pinot Grigio is fresh and vibrant with fruit flavors of pears, apples and stone fruit.

Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon SRP <$20. Double Barrel wines are matured in traditional wine barrels. Then transferred and finished in aged whiskey barrels to build more layers of complexity resulting in a unique smooth finish. This double barrel Cabernet shows prominent tannins give way to a palate of ripe cassis, caramel, dark olives and  hints of tabacco.

Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz SRP <$20. Double Barrel Shiraz is first aged in traditional French and American oak wine barrels then transferred and finished in aged whiskey barrels. This Shiraz is an enchanting mix of sweet red fruits and dark chocolate indicative of its origins as Barossa Shiraz.
