Key West Lobsterfest 2017

Calling all lobster lovers! Florida lobsters take the spotlight during Key West Lobsterfest 2017, Thursday through Sunday, August 10th-13th.  Key West Lobsterfest kicks off the Florida Keys lobster season with a host of events highlighted by an open-air lobster feast on the island’s famed Duval Street.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th at Sunset Tiki Bar & Grille, located at 617 Front Street, for a lobster boil that includes shrimp, andouille sausage, crawfish, corn on the cob, new potatoes, salad and garlic bread. Drink specials and live entertainment complete the event. Price of the lobster boil is $27.99 plus tax and gratuity.

Known as spiny lobsters, the clawless crustaceans found in Keys waters are sweet and tender. Lobster lovers can purchase a variety of lobster dishes at the Key West Lobsterfest Street Fair, beginning at 12- noon [until 11 p.m.] on Saturday, August. 12th, in the 100-500 blocks of Duval Street. Food and drink prices, pay as you go.

An all day free outdoor concert is scheduled from 1-10:30 p.m. with entertainers including Alphonse, Cool Breeze and the Durtbags performing on the event stage at the intersection of Duval and Greene streets. Attendees also can browse and buy art, crafts and merchandise from event vendors.

Other Lobsterfest events include a three hour catamaran sail and snorkel trip sponsored by Margarita Life. Reef & Rita is an ideal opportunity to enjoy a catamaran sail to the only living coral reef in North America. The excursion includes beer, wine, champagne & margaritas. Duval Crawl Join hundreds of party people Friday Night for the kick off to this year’s Lobsterfest. The “crawl” will begin immediately after sunset and continue until Midnight.  Participants will receive an official Lobsterfest ’17 T-Shirt, souvenir Corona bottle opener/lanyard and drink specials at all participating bars.  The cost is $20/person with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Key West High School’s Scholarship Fund.
Pick up your T-Shirt, Lanyard and instructions from the Key West Promotions store 218 Whitehead Street. Located on the corner of Whitehead & Greene Streets, next door to the Mel Fisher Museum. Packages are available to pick up August 11th & 12th 12-noon to 7:30pm. Participating Bars include: Sunset Tiki Bar, Hard Rock Cafe, Rooftop Cafe, Bagatelle, Gas Monkey Bar & Grille, Lazy Gecko, Tattoos & Scars, Rick’s, Durty Harry’s, Smokin Tuna Saloon, Margaritaville, Willie T’s & Pinchers Crab Shack. Lobster Brunch Sunday, August 13th from 10:00AM-12-Noon, at Smokin’ Tuna Saloon, 4 Charles Street. Classic brunch beverages, Mimosas, and Bloody Mary’s along with creative lobster brunch food will be on the specialty menu; pricing for food and beverage is a la carte.
