Friendly and Crowd Pleasing California and Spanish Red Wine

Just as Cabernet Sauvignon, the “King of Reds,” resides in the upper echelons of the wine world, the carnivore sits atop the food chain. Inspired by these two kings, Carnivor the wine was created. A friendly wine with bold flavor is matched by an overall smoothness. Carnivor sources fruit from Lodi creating a full-bodied Cabernet along with a hint of Petite Syrah showing off the wine’s distinctive color and structure. This crowd pleasing blend wine was launched two years ago. SRP $15

Founded in 1962 as a growers’ co-operative, Bodegas San Alejandro (BSA) is located in the tiny town of Miedes, about 55 miles north of Madrid, Spain in the province of Zaragoza. The region enjoys a continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters. Most of the vineyards have loose, rocky limestone soils with low nutrient levels and high lime content. The vines in this region have to work their way deep into the fractured soils to find the water and nutrients they need. Calatayud is famous for its red wines, which represent 85% of yearly wine production in the region. Las Rocas Garnacha is vibrant with its rich dark cherry and blackberry aromas and flavors. This well-structured wine integrates nuances of oak with round tannins to deliver a rich palate of decadent fruit flavors. SRP $12
